So Par's birthday was last week. And for those of you who know my husband, you know he loves hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, and pretty much anything outdoors. So, for his birthday this year I made him a camo cake. I did a little research and found a quick and easy way to bake this off of nothing other than Pinterest.
So I mixed up a box of french vanilla cake mix and separated the batter into three bowls. I left the first plain and used food coloring to dye the other two. I then dropped different amounts of each colored batter into my cake pan and I think I miraculously didn't screw it up.
It then went into the oven for a while, however, it did take an extra 20-30 minutes longer than normal to bake. I think it's because of the extra liquid from the food coloring, but I could be wrong. I frosted it with cream cheese frosting because it is delicious and I wanted to surprise Par with the inside of the cake. And the final product was pretty cool! I will say that if / when I make this again, I will use less white colored batter. It seemed like I had A LOT more of that color than the other two.
Along with this pretty bombin cake, the entire Louder family went out to eat. We celebrated three birthdays for that dinner, Parley, Colton, & Kayelyn. The twins' birthday is the day after Par's. This ended up being a pretty epic adventure with a very sick husband.

We went out to eat at the Pelican Cafe in Roosevelt. They have this cheeseburger named the "Valley Burger." This burger is a beast! It is 2 whopping pounds of ground beef with one generous pound of cheese, all on a massive hamburger bun.
At the Pelican they have this challenge where if you order this burger, eat everything including the onion rings / fries, sides of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes, and your drink, you will either get a free shirt or your burger for free.
So naturally, ALL of the guys had to take on the challenge.
When they started out they were pretty excited... But then it got REAL! haha
Sadly, Par couldn't finish the beast! So Louie & Murph had a great treat once we got home from dinner! I do believe that was the first and last time Par will attempt to dominate the Valley Burger.
